It helps lighten the mood, brings a smile, and if done right, makes your brand more memorable. But before we get into how we can add humor to emails, let's lay down some groundwork. Funny campaigns don't work for all brands. You don't want your medical provider or financial department to laugh at their offers. (imagine an april fool's joke gone wrong in any of these industries!) humor, used improperly, can sow confusion and chaos among your audience and customers. So before incorporating humor, evaluate your brand and campaign. Ask yourself:is a fun campaign in line with your brand? Don't put your brand on the line by trying to incorporate humor where it doesn't belong. Would company mailing list humor take away from your message or enhance it? While we all appreciate a good laugh, you don't want laughs to detract from the purpose of your email. If the humor helps get your point across, wonderful; otherwise, focus on another way to convey your message. Is the humor appropriate for your audience or does it alienate them? If you know the majority of your contact list is made up of millennials, it doesn't make much sense to tell a joke that references the 70s. Know who you're talking to so you can direct your jokes at that group. Now that we've e Liminated the ifs and buts, let's get down to the fun stuff and show how you can incorporate humor and fun ideas into your email campaigns. April fool's offerings rei announced pet ventures on april fool's day to announce its new pet offerings, "Global pet adventure travel."
